Check Your Brake Fluid Checking that your brake fluid is at an appropriate level is something that you should do regularly. If brake fluid levels are not checked and maintained regularly it stands a chance of becoming contaminated. Brake fluid becomes contaminated due to water or air (condensation) that has infiltrated the system. Contaminated brake fluid has a milky white color to it, so it is easily identified.
